University of Wales announces prize for unemployed graduates

University of Wales announces prize for unemployed graduates The University of Wales is to offer unemployed graduates the chance to spend two weeks at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to learn about how to successfully establish a new business.

Said scheme was announced at the Lord Puttnam lecture at the Cardiff Business Club, and will be part of collaboration between the society and the university.

Professor Marc Clement, the vice-chancellor of the University of Wales, said: "The job market is becoming increasingly difficult for young people and it is critical that we support their creativity, energy and enterprise in different ways.

"By giving one of our graduates the opportunity to widen their horizons at the world's most entrepreneurial university we hope that they will be inspired to come back and start a business here in Wales."

The University of Wales was founded in 1893 and contains big-name higher education institutions such as Aberystwyth and Bangor, as well as recently-established universities like Swansea Metropolitan University.ADNFCR-834-ID-19624145-ADNFCR
