Job candidates should ensure they make use of as many keywords as possible on their CVs to maximise employment opportunities, it has been suggested. David Hurst, managing director of Onrec, said this is worth bearing in mind as an increasing number of companies are using software to pinpoint the most relevant applications for their vacancies. He noted that it can be a good strategy for graduates to prepare multiple CVs, focusing on specific skills and experience for the appropriate applications. "It is very important to think about the skills and qualifications you've got and highlight them so that they get found," he said. Mr Hurst said job candidates should carefully consider the kind of business they are applying to and tailor their CV accordingly. Elsewhere, finance firm IMR recently noted that accountancy recruiters who provide employees to small and medium-sized enterprises are resisting the current economic downturn.
