Schneider Electric Recruits 17 New Pareto Graduates
Schneider Electric, one of the World’s leading
suppliers of electrical distribution and automation control
products, is expanding its UK sales team by recruiting 17 new
graduates through sales & marketing specialist Pareto Law.
The agreement comes just 18 months after Schneider Electric
first recruited 12 Pareto graduates in an initiative that was
awarded HR Action of the Year across the European Zone of the
Schneider Electric Group.
Anna Pierce, HR Advisor – Resourcing, at Schneider Electric,
commented: ““We wanted to take our sales recruitment in a new direction,
moving away from traditional approaches, placing emphasis upon
drive, personality and long term potential rather than pure
technical knowledge and previous sales experience.
“2005 was the first time we worked with Pareto Law and their
tailored approach enabled us to recruit graduates that have
achieved exceptional results for our business, with positive
feedback from both internal and external colleagues and
customers.”
The recruitment drive included two dedicated
assessment days and a final interview day at Schneider
Electric’s offices. The new recruits have joined a well established
six-month graduate training scheme operated by Schneider Electric,
which will see them work across the UK operations.
To support the new graduate intake Pareto is providing bespoke
training to ensure the skills required for Schneider Electric’s
operations are developed and enhanced. Skills covered in the
training course include an introduction to sales, influencing and
presentation skills.
The success of Pareto’s selection and recruitment process has
also led to Schneider Electric asking them to recruit a new
marketing graduate for its international development and exchange
programme, Marco Polo. The successful candidate is now working in
Germany.
Jonathan Fitchew, joint managing director of Pareto Law, added:
“We’ve worked hard to build a strong understanding of the
requirements of Schneider Electric, and this has enabled us to
design a selection and assessment process that provides graduates
with the skills to grow and develop with the company.”
Globally, Schneider Electric operates in 130 countries, with
over 88,000 employees and £11 billion in sales in 2005. Their
brands include Merlin Gerin, Télémécanique and Square D. In the UK,
the company operates from 10 sites, employing over 2,000 people,
with operations split between electrical distribution and
automation control.
