Success Story: Ben Abraham
Ben Abraham is one of several Pareto Law candidates who
have gone on to achieve management status in their organisations
and subsequently use Pareto Law to recruit graduates for their own
teams.
Road to Management position
After graduating from Sheffield Hallam in International Business
and Italian, Ben knew that he wanted to reach management level
within an organisation but was unsure of how to achieve this.
Assessment Days
After seeing Pareto Law advertised in a national newspaper Ben
submitted his CV and was duly telephone interviewed by one of
Pareto Law's Account Managers. Having impressed at this stage Ben
was next invited to one of Pareto Law's Assessment Days, where he
was stringently assessed for the key competencies needed to succeed
in sales. One week and one interview later he was attending the
first week of the Pareto Law training course in Wilmslow, Cheshire
as an employee of OpenPSL Ltd, a UK Computer Hardware
Distributor.
Gaining experience
"I started out
in internal sales in the Product Division where I really worked
hard to pick up all the technical knowledge required. I had never
had a technical role before so this was quite daunting but the
training was extremely comprehensive and before long I understood
all the jargon being used - a huge task in itself! As well as
learning all about the company and their products, I was also
involved in Account Management, which gave me a fantastic base from
which to learn everything I needed to know about our clients".
Achieving management goal
"I have since progressed through the company and achieved my
original management goal - I am currently Sales and Marketing
Manager, with a team that has grown from 4 to nearly 40 in only
three years. We have recently been bought by Bell Micro who have
offices across Europe, so we are consequently looking to expand our
base from the UK. This expansion means our team needs to grow and I
have been so pleased with the assessment, training and support
provided by Pareto Law for myself that I am keen to use the service
again - but to grow my own team this time."
