Anthony Massey

The best part of my role is selling into international markets.

Anthony Massey graduate with a 2:1 in Marketing Management from Northumbria University.  He started his career in 2007.  He now works for Autotask a global brand delivering service intelligence to technology providers.  He found his experience with Pareto excellent so he decided to answer a few of our questions.

Why did you choose sales as a career?

I have always been interested in Business, so sales seemed like a natural career step after a Marketing Degree.

What has been the biggest challenge for you, working in the sales environment?

The biggest challenge I have faced in sales is not speaking a foreign language.  Especially as one of the best part of my role is selling into international markets. 

Is there any advice you’d offer to others considering a career in sales?

I’d say you have to stay focused and understand that solution selling is about following a process and being prepared for rejection. 

How has your career progressed?

I have gained specific industrial knowledge of SaaS, Cloud and Managed Services. Also my skills in public speaking and networking both online and offline have evolved

How do you see your future developing?

I want to continue in the SaaS/Cloud Market sector for now.  In the short term I hope to move into a large strategic sales/account management role and then in the longer term I want to move into a managerial/director role.
