When did you start your career?

I started in my first graduate role in November 2014

Why did you choose sales as a career?

I felt that sales fit my personality as an entry point into the business world. I like talking to people, and have always been recognised in my previous jobs as having excellent customer communication skills.

How did you find your experience of the Pareto recruitment and training process?

The recruitment process was very professional and I really felt that the Pareto graduate managers and staff listened to my preferences, resulting in a job role that I love. After placement, I have found the training process to be very useful to my job role and beneficial to my personal development. I have attended many of the Pareto training courses, from Sales Fundamentals to High Impact Presentations – all of which have enabled me to hone my skills and meet likeminded sales professionals and trade ideas.

What has been the biggest challenge for you, working in the sales environment?

For me, it has been adapting my style to connect with very pragmatic personality types when selling but the training with Pareto has helped me to understand the psychology behind this and as such has unlocked my potential for closing a deal with any type of decision maker.

What have you found to be the best part of your role?

As I said, I enjoy working with people and connecting with them, I’ve found that’s where I am most comfortable and where my ability to communicate efficiently has lead to many successes for AlcoDigital. Other than face to face sales, training is a large part of my role and it is this which will help me to develop and run my own sales teams in the future.

Is there any advice you’d offer to others considering a career in sales?

Sales is about your confidence in yourself and your product. Once you have that you will not only do well but you will enjoy what you do.

How has your career progressed?

I have been given responsibilities across the board with my job. I not only do sales from pitch to close, but I help with marketing, social media, training, event planning and lots more. It has been a great experience to develop many skills.

How do you see your future developing?

With the growth of the company I should be able to gain experience managing people over the next couple of years. I look forward to this development and hope that my future is training and managing around 10 – 20 sales staff and watching my business grow!
