What We Did

TIU historically utilised a graduate scheme to introduce new talent into the business. In 2011, they re-visited the prospect of re-introducing the scheme to recruit, train and develop graduate talent to the business. Santiago Alviar-Baquero, Head of SMB and Distribution at TIU and a previous Pareto graduate, recommended us to deliver what TIU were looking for. In March 2011, we met with Cathy Mollin (Senior HR Business Partner) and some of the Sales Managers to discuss TIU’s requirements.

After taking the time to understand the business, we proposed a recruitment solution. TIU were pleased with our capacity to select and assess the very best people, saving them time, cost and HR/Management resources: and we promised to deliver.

In May 2011, the TIU assessment day took place, attended by Managementand HR representatives from the company. Within 8 weeks, 6 graduates had been sourced and placed. Starting in June 2011, the candidates entered the company as Graduate Sales Account Executives, undertaking 6 months of training with us and TIU. As raw sales talent, they could be moulded and shaped to grow with the business and become the sales professionals of
the future for TIU.

The Pareto Effect

Following the initial consultation with TIU, we delivered quickly, putting together the SLA rapidly to outline exactly what we would do. Within 12 weeks of the agreement being signed, all graduates had been sourced, placed and trained in the fundamentals, ready to begin their roles. After a period of mentoring and guidance from their SalesManagers, they were able to independently run their accounts within 6 months, with on-going management support.

In December 2012 Pareto candidate Sophie Boyle graduated from the TIU scheme into a Sales Account Executive role. The other graduates are potentially due to progress into permanent sales executive roles in the near future.
In February 2013, Toshiba returned to us with the task to recruit 4 graduates for the new graduate scheme which will commence in April 2013. TIU continues to work in partnership with Pareto to meet their graduate recruitment needs.
