Business Development Manager - European Road Freight

Location: Nottingham - Hybrid

We are seeking a results-oriented Business Development Manager with deep expertise in UK and European Road Freight to spearhead our market expansion and quickly secure new partnerships. This is a high-autonomy role where your success will directly influence the strategic direction of a specialized, client-focused firm.

What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities):

  • Strategic Sales Growth: Develop and execute a targeted sales strategy to significantly expand our market share in the UK and European road freight sectors

  • New Business Focus: Proactively identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities, managing the entire sales cycle from initial contact to contract closing

  • Client Portfolio Management: Successfully acquire and nurture a diverse client portfolio, expertly catering to the specific logistical needs of both ambitious SMEs and large, recognized Major Retail Brands

  • Service Promotion: Expertly promote our full suite of road freight services, including dedicated transport, express shipments, and full logistics solutions

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Operations team to ensure seamless service delivery and high levels of client satisfaction

  • Rapid Impact: Demonstrate the ability to secure new business and generate revenue quickly, with a focus on a monthly GP target

What You Bring (Essential Requirements):

  • Road Freight Expertise: Proven, in-depth understanding and experience within the Road Freight sector, with a specific focus on European Road Freight operations, regulations, and market dynamics

  • Sales Track Record: A minimum of 5 years in a business development or sales role within the logistics/transport industry, with a demonstrable track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets

  • Commercial Acumen: Highly motivated, driven to succeed, and able to discuss and navigate non-compete clauses transparently, demonstrating an ethical and legal path to making a quick impact

  • Role Focus: You must be a Senior Sales professional heavily focused on new business and bringing over existing relationships for new partnerships
