Managing Director - Water Compliance (New Division)

Location: England-based

Salary: Competitive Base (Negotiable based on experience) + Performance Bonus + Car + Equity/Share Capital

The Opportunity: Build. Scale. Own.

Our client is an established leader in the building compliance sector, boasting a footprint of over 70 housing associations and public sector clients. They are now officially launching an ambitious new Water Compliance division, and they need an entrepreneurial operator to lead the charge.

This isn't a traditional corporate caretaker role. You will be the founding leader of this division, moving beyond mere maintenance into true value creation. You won't just be managing; you will be building a legacy with the goal of scaling this unit from £0 to a £30m+ business.

What will you actually be doing?

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the roadmap for the division, including organic expansion and potential future acquisitions.
  • Full P&L Ownership: Take total accountability for the division's financial performance and sustainable growth.
  • Operational Excellence: Establish the foundational processes, systems, and service delivery standards from the ground up.
  • Team Building: Recruit, lead, and scale your own high-performing team of specialists as the business grows.
  • Business Development: Drive initial revenue by leveraging existing industry relationships and identifying new market opportunities.
  • Brand Ambassadorship: Act as the face of the division, strengthening the company's presence within the water compliance market.

Who are you?

We are targeting a high-energy leader who thrives in fast-growth, evolving environments.

  • The Experience: You have a proven track record in general management or operations management, specifically within the water compliance, hygiene, or treatment sectors.
  • The "Operator" Mindset: You are a pragmatic leader who understands technical delivery and processes; we are avoiding pure "Sales" backgrounds for this specific role.
  • The Network: You bring a strong existing network of industry contacts, including both potential clients and top-tier talent.
  • The Ambition: You are "hungry" and prepared to be hands-on in the early phases to ensure a solid foundation for a multi-million pound enterprise.
  • The Commercial Edge: You are commercially astute with direct experience managing or influencing a P&L.

Why join?

  • The "Sweet Spot": You get the independence of a startup with the financial backing and established reputation of a market leader.
  • Wealth Creation: Unlike standard roles, this offers a significant equity opportunity and share capital aligned with the enterprise value you create.
  • Autonomy: You have a high level of independence to shape the division's future and make your mark on the industry.

Ready to lead the market? If you are a senior leader at a mid-sized firm and you're ready to step into a true MD role where your impact is directly tied to your ownership, come and build the future with our client.
