Our client is on the lookout for a Business Development Manager, to target the London corporate market. Providing innovative smart workplace solutions, linked with technology, the demand is higher than ever with the return of office based businesses, or clients creating more comfortable work environments to create stronger employee retention. This business has seen incredible growth over the last four years, more than doubling their turnover and showing no signs of slowing down.

The role will be second in command to the Corporate Sales Director, who is seeking someone to go on the journey with them. You will be responsible for driving sales growth and expanding market presence. The business is seeking someone who wants to scale with a business, both in experience and responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities for smart products
  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients and sectors for growth
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective clients
  • Create and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals

2. Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing key clients
  • Understand client needs and tailor solutions to meet their specific requirements
  • Act as the main point of contact for key clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction

3. Sales Strategy and Planning

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve corporate development objectives
  • Achieve sales targets and KPIs
  • Monitor and analyse personal sales performance data to inform strategy business adjustments
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop targeted campaigns and promotions

4. Product Knowledge and Technical Expertise

  • Maintain a deep understanding of the company portfolio of offerings
  • Provide technical sales support and product demonstrations to clients
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor products, and new technologies

5. Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with the product development team to provide customer feedback and influence future product enhancement and developments
  • Collaborate with the customer service team to ensure seamless client onboarding and support

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in business development, B2B sales, or technical sales
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and supporting business growth
  • Experience in the smart technology or related industry is highly desirable
  • Strong technical aptitude and the ability to quickly learn new technologies and products
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to travel within the London area, with attendance at exhibitions outside of the territory on occasion
